Junior Tournaments Schedule - Traverse City Junior Golf Association Tournament Program

The Traverse City Junior Golf Association first "teed-off" in the summer of 1984. Since that time, the association has offered instruction and competitive programs to thousands of junior and collegiate golfers. Most are from northwestern Michigan, but many come from all areas of the state and beyond. Membership in 2007 was over 465 juniors.

In this program, golfers, from age 5 to 22, develop their game, learn etiquette, and gain self-confidence while playing and practicing on the finest golf facilities in the state.

It is the goal of the Traverse City Junior Golf Association to continue providing new and current junior players with a program recognized by many as the finest in the Midwest.

Tournament Program

During the spring and summer of 2008, the TCJGA will hold 70 junior tournaments in seven different divisions of competition for boys and girls ages 18 and under, plus a collegiate division

Lesson Program

The TCJGA Junior Golf Lesson Program will hold 16 lesson sessions during the 2008 season for boys and girls ages 5 through 15.

April 30 - TCJGA Monthly Web Site Drawing Winners for May 2008 are: Gavin Bebb - 5 to 7 years old; Grace Ellul - 8 and 9 years old; Jonathan Mulder - 10 and 11 years old; McKenna Cartwright - 12 and 13 years old; Zachary Smith - 14 and 15 years old; Paul Dienes - 16 years and older and Gary Bump - TCJGA Alumni winner. These names are the winners picked for the month of May to receive a prize from the Traverse City Golf Center. Prizes may be redeemed at the Golf Center on Secor Road during the month of May. New winners will be picked each month to help celebrate the 25th Year of the TCJGA. Question contact the TCJGA office at (231) 935-GOLF.

April 29 - TCJGA Members for 2008 are reminded to contact the TCJGA Office at (231) 935-GOLF to pick up their Members Packet if they have not done so yet. Just call the office with the members name and when you will pick up. We will leave a packet by the office door. The office is at 310 West Front Street, Suite 201 which is the building next to J&S Hamburg on Front Street. TC State Bank is on the first floor of our building.

March 1 - TCJGA will be hosting special events during 2008 to celebrate the 25th Year of Junior Golf! Two of these events are: Monday, June 30th the Scholarship Tournament and Dinner will be held at Traverse City Golf & Country Club and on Saturday, August 2nd, the 25th Year Celebration Tournament and Dinner will be held at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa.
