Junior Tournaments

Open to boys and girls ages 7-18 who qualify. There are six divisions: (Age is as of June 14, 2008)

  • Junior Instructional Division -is open to any player age 9 & under who is not ready for 9-hole competition. This program will provide instruction and playing experience on the golf course. Players will be given tournament instruction and playing experience each day of the program.

  • Instructional Division is open to any player age 10 & up who is not ready for 9-hole competition.

  • Division I ­ 9 hole (age 10 & under) - for players who are new this year or returnees from last year. The entry fees for each event will be from $18 to $25.

  • Division II ­ 9 hole (age 12 & under) - for players who are new this year or returnees from last year. The entry fees for each event will be from $18 to $25.

  • Division III - 9 hole (age 16 & under) - for players who are new this year or returnees from last year. The entry fees for each event will be from $18 to $25.

  • Tour Division ­ 18 hole (age 18 & under) players who have not graduated from high school and played in the Tour Division last year or qualify by establishing good playing abilities in Division I or Division II competition and are invited to move up. The entry fees for each event will be from $30 - $45.

Elite golfers ages 18 & under who have not started college should consider the Northern Michigan Junior Tour. It is a highly competitive 18-hole division within the TCJGA. The TCJGA also has a Collegiate division.

Within each Division of play there will be age level competition. Players will accumulate points for their order of finish in each tournament. Points will be totaled and awards will be given at the end of the tournament program schedule.

In the event a golfer is not satisfied with the competition in their age level they may request to move up to another age level within their Division. Players must maintain an appropriate level of play to remain in their Division of competition.
